The museum is designed for everyone: for years, we have been committed to making the museum fully accessible — from 0 to 100, at 360°!
The museum also features high-readability panels and iconographic captions that use images without text to illustrate the function of ancient objects by comparing them with their modern equivalents. Braille texts, tactile paths, and replicas created through experimental archaeology projects further enrich the visitor experience. Seating and portable stools are available throughout the museum for resting and comfortably viewing the display cases. Visitors with low vision or blindness will find not only an extensive tactile route, but also tactile raised reconstruction drawings, captions, books, and information sheets in Braille. For some artefacts, Descrivedendo® certified captions are also available — a method developed by the Italian National Association for the Visually Impaired that stimulates imagination and memory through narration based on carefully chosen words and explanations of more complex terms.
Inside the museum galleries, visitors will find MABA, the Children’s Archaeological Museum – Angera, equipped with step stools to help children reach the higher display cases, always-accessible themed games, and a small multilingual archaeological library for children. A lift for strollers and wheelchairs is also available, while a nursing chair and changing table make the museum suitable for families with very young children. Families and curious visitors can explore the museum collections through special audio guides available free of charge via QR code, accompanied by the voices of the friendly bear Artoo and the children of Angera: Artoo Bear Audio Guide
