In Angera, history and culture intertwine with nature and landscape, enhanced by a Natura 2000 site: the Bruschera Marsh, an important wetland of the Verbano area. It features flooded woodlands, ponds, and wet meadows interspersed with oak forests. Open to the public for immersive nature experiences, the marsh is home to valuable species such as the Lataste’s frog, as well as migratory and nesting birds protected by European directives. The trail that crosses the entire natural area runs alongside Isolino Partegora, a small gulf—or “gora”—from which it takes its name.
