Kapannone dei Libri

Home / Kapannone dei Libri

Andrea Kerbaker’s Kapannone dei Libri is a truly unique place: a former industrial warehouse on the shores of Lake Maggiore transformed into a surprising temple of culture. It is an unexpected, vibrant space where 400 square meters of metal shelves hold an idea of culture that is alive, curious, and never conventional. Anyone who steps inside the Kapannone finds themselves immersed in an extraordinary journey: precious artist’s books signed by Joan Miró and Henri Matisse, poetic and literary magazines from the twentieth century, iconic comics, astonishing pop-up books, and antique nineteenth-century volumes. There is also a vast international cinema collection with 12,000 original movie posters, ready to tell the story of the seventh art.

The Kapannone also hosts the Kapannina, a special space designed for children that offers activities tailored to them to help. Children and young visitors can discover the world of books with lightness and joy, surrounded by books and by the colorful murals created by artist Chiara Dattola.
