Angera saffron – De.Co 2021

In 2021, the local saffron obtained the De.Co designation, bringing an ancient tradition back to life: the cultivation techniques described in the 1829 scientific text “Monografia dello Zafferano” by the physician Ajcardo Castiglioni (1774–1849) from Angera. Today, this saffron is still grown using those same historical methods at the farm Le Sinergie.
