Anello di San Quirico

Tra il Lago Maggiore e la Rocca di Angera

Home / Destination Details

The San Quirico itinerary is an easy circular trail (about 10.5 km) between Angera and Ranco, overlooking Lake Maggiore. Part of the “Vie Verdi dei Laghi” network, it offers a mix of nature, history, and scenic viewpoints.

The route winds around Mount San Quirico through forests, vineyards, and rural landscapes, with several panoramic views over the southern Lake Maggiore area. The highlight is the small Church of San Quirico at the top of the hill, a historic landmark and symbolic guardian of the area.

The trail can start from Angera or the hamlet of Uponne, following dirt roads and woodland paths that gradually climb to the summit, then continue along old rural routes connecting the two towns. A short detour leads to the Rocca di Angera.

Suitable for walking, cycling, or horseback riding, the loop takes about 2.5–3 hours with minimal elevation gain and is ideal for all skill levels.
