{"id":6845,"date":"2026-03-09T18:21:42","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T17:21:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/angera.org\/luogo\/convent-of-santa-teresa\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T12:56:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T10:56:19","slug":"convent-of-santa-teresa","status":"publish","type":"luogo","link":"https:\/\/www.angera.it\/en\/luogo\/convent-of-santa-teresa\/","title":{"rendered":"Convent of Santa Teresa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>18th&nbsp;century<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the left (south) side of Via Greppi, at the corner with Via Cavour (once Contrada delle Monache), stand the remains of the convent of Santa Teresa, now used as dwellings and shops.&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe architectural form may be clearly seen from above, from the gallery of the castle or Rocca.<br \/>\nThe Convent of Santa Teresa was founded in 1727 and suppressed in 1782; it was inhabited by nuns of the Barefoot Carmelite Order.<br \/>\nStructures relating to the old convent are clearly visible inside the current buildings; there was also a church, part of which may be seen inside 37 Via Greppi.
